Evening Prayer Saturday March 12th 2022

Our prayers examine scripture and support our response in a prayerful and reflective way. Rick is one of St Luke’s Church Wardens and he leads Evening and Morning Prayer this week. Evening Prayer – Rick prays with us tonight… reciting our Lord’s Prayer: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

We pray for world peace and for the people of Ukraine, and of Russia. We ask for wise decision-making and the moral integrity of all world leaders in the face of evil – most especially this night.

‘Lent Prose (Attende, Domine)’, based on a traditional Gaelic Christian prayer text, composed by John Rutter (1945 – ). Recorded remotely by the Choral Scholars of St Martin-in-the-Fields Church in their homes, and edited together.

Photographs this week are from St Peter’s Church, Blackpool, where Judith C from our congregation now worships http://www.stpeterschurchblackpool.co.uk/ founded in 1910.
