Evening Prayer Wednesday March 2nd 2022

Our prayers examine scripture and support our response in a prayerful and reflective way. Roberta leads Evening and Morning Prayer this week. Evening Prayer on Ash Wednesday – Roberta prays with us reminding us of the words to a well known Christian, Gaelic blessing; “May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Amen.”

We pray for world peace and for the people of Ukraine, and of Russia. We ask for wise decision-making and the moral integrity of all world leaders – most especially this Ash Wednesday night.

‘A Gaelic Blessing’, based on a traditional Gaelic Christian prayer text, composed by John Rutter (1945 -). Recorded remotely by the Choral Scholars of St Martin-in-the-Fields Church in their homes, and edited together.
