Morning Prayer Tuesday April 13th 2021

Revd. Liz considers the plight of the poor and destitute – how is it that scripture says that we are worth more to our Father than a sparrow, yet the poor are as thin as birds, dressed not like the lilies of the field but in ragged clothing? How can we square children starving in Yemen with our need to feed our own families? Liz asks God to help us to channel our anger at these contradictions, into seeking with all who suffer, our earthly paradise of peace and plenty, where contradictions are reconciled. Liz prays for our Lord to help us reconcile our unbelief and be aware of all people lifting us up. When we feel alone, let us feel God near us, even if only for a moment, this enables us to go on – working to create a fairer world together.
