Ansai leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Morning Prayer – Ansai considers a passage from Luke’s gospel, chapter 23 verses 26 to 43. This scripture describes Simon of Cyrene, forced to carry Jesus’ cross, the women following behind the procession and the criminals response to being put to death beside Jesus, an innocent man; “When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified Jesus there with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. Then Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.'”
