Matilda leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Advent Morning Prayer – Matilda considers a passage from Matthew’s gospel, chapter 19, verse 16 to the end. This scripture contemplates Jesus’ response to a person who asks what they must do to have eternal life; “‘If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.’ When the young man heard this word, he went away grieving, for he had many possessions.”
