Bennett asks our Lord that through the dark hours of this night, we are protected and surrounded by God’s forgiveness for the mistakes we have made and for the wrong things we have done. Bennett’s Evening Prayer also asks God to give comfort beyond human comfort to older people, and to all who grieve.
