Miriam’s Evening Prayer contemplates how our Lord is our strength, our sun and our salvation. Miriam asks for God’s light to be shed over those living in the shadow of death, that this light may also warm the hearts of those who have lost hope, or who bear the cross of ever-present hunger, and she prays they may move from slavery to freedom. Miriam asks that we abandon apathy and take up action in the face of such injustice and she prays that these frightening times, with daily headlines delivering troubling news, will never separate us from Christ’s love on the cross.
