Our first Evening Prayer led by Rick who reads Psalm 121 this evening, which reminds us about trust; “I lift up my eyes to the hills; from where is my help to come? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.” Rick marks the first of three Rogation days before Ascension Day, with a prayer asking God to give us thankful hearts as we work and as we pray. Rick praises God for the ordered course of nature, seed time and harvest which is God given, and thanks our Lord for all who are holy and humble of heart. Rick asks that we are blessed with God’s love, in lowliness, fellowship, sacrament and in prayer and he reminds God to bless our rich earth, bless our labour and guide us into a sustainable future.
