Evening Prayer with Rick who reads Psalm 128 and Psalm 130; “My soul waits for the Lord, more than the night watch for the morning”. Rick commends all living in the depths of despair and darkness to God’s mercy and faithful love. On this second Rogation day before Ascension Day, Rick prays for all working on land and sea, for all who cherish farm animals, and for all who harvest and prepare our food. He prays that God will protect them from the dangers of their work, guard them from fatigue, loneliness, financial worry, and above all that our Lord will bring them safely home at the end of each day.
