Jim, St Thomas’ Church Warden, leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Morning Prayer – Jim considers a passage from Luke’s gospel, chapter 22 verse 63 to the end. This scripture describes Jesus’ capture, torture and later questioning by the chief priests and scribes, who tried to trick Jesus into condemning himself to death. They asked Jesus: “‘Are you, then, the Son of God?’ He said to them, ‘You say that I am.’ Then they said, ‘What further testimony do we need? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!’”
