Charlton’s autumn celebration, the Horn Fair, is back. It brings the last hurrah for Greenwich’s warmer months. Borne of an 800-year tradition of village fun on this very land, enjoy singing and dancing, kids’ activities (including crafts, bouncy castles, and face painting), and local maker and food stalls. It’s all happening at Charlton House on this Feast of St Luke – come join the tomfoolery!

As part of the fair, St Luke’s Church will be open to visitors all afternoon with refreshments, tapestry talks and trips up the tower. This is a great opportunity to see some wonderful views of London.

Earlier in the day we will have a festival service to celebrate St Luke’s Day. Everyone is welcome at 10,00am in St Luke’s Church. (It is a day when both our church congregations worship together, so there will not be a service at St Thomas’ Church that morning.)

We’ll be joined at the service by the Archdeacon of Lewisham and Greenwich, Alastair Cutting. This festival worship will include the admission of children to communion and be followed by a celebratory reception.

As well as being a disciple of Jesus, St Luke is now known as being the patron saint of doctors, students and artists. He is also the saint to which our church is dedicated.

There’ll be a lot to celebrate on 15 October and we hope you can join us.
