We’re thrilled to have our friend and neighbour, Heather Hoyle, organise a terrific jazz night featuring pianist Pablo Barrios, and their friends. Heather has taken the saxophone to new heights as a solo performer, mixing jazz, house, soul, funk, Latin, R’n’B, hip hop and classical music. She started her professional career aged 17, performing with her band for celebrities and royalty, at sporting events and film premieres, as well as legendary jazz club Ronnie Scott’s. Her dance floor-filling performances have taken her all over the world, with top DJs and musicians including Bryan Ferry and Amy Winehouse.
Pablo Barrios has played with renowned jazz ensembles such as NYJO and The Len Phillips Swing Band, as well as world class jazz artists such as Jo-Jo Mayer, Pete Long, Simon Gardner and Tommy Blaize.
You won’t be able to resist dancing the night away! Doors open at 7.30pm and we’re suggesting a donation of £5 per person (cash or card). Please bring your own drinks and snacks”.
Hi someone recommended your church for social get together’s for older people on Tuesdays. My mum is 87 she walks well with a stick loves music, reading, walking as much as she can manage and gardening. She has been going to a lunch club in Plumstead but it has been cut to every 2 weeks. Do you think your club would be suitable for her, would she be ok to come on her own, feel welcomed?
I just saw the advert for the jazz event last Friday, we would have loved that, she loves jazz as does my sister and I. Do you have a mailing list so that we would know about any further similar events please.
Many thanks
