Our prayers examine scripture and support our response in a prayerful and reflective way. Matilda and her mother lead Evening and Morning Prayer this week. Evening Prayer – We pray together; Go forth into the world in peace; be of good courage; hold fast that which is good; render to no one evil for evil; strengthen the fainthearted; support the weak; help the afflicted; honour everyone; love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit; and may the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always. Amen.
We pray for world peace and for the people of Ukraine, and of Russia. We ask for wise decision-making and the moral integrity of all world leaders in the face of evil – most especially this night.
(Te Lucis Ante Terminum translates as; “To thee, before the end of the light, Creator of all things, we pray, that thy accustomed mercy may be our protector and guard. Let dreams depart from us, and the phantoms of night, and restrain our enemy, that our bodies may not be polluted. Grant this, all-powerful Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee in eternity reigns with the Holy Spirit).
