Roberta leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Morning Prayer – Roberta considers a passage from Mark’s gospel, chapter 7, verse 31 to the end. This passage outlines Jesus and his disciples’ journey south from Tyre down the coast, through the region of Decapolis, to stay at Sidon on the Mediterranean sea. Here the disciples brought a man to Jesus to heal; “They brought to him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat and touched his tongue…”
