Father and son Peter and Michael, lead both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Morning Prayer – Peter and Michael consider combined fragments in a passage from Matthew’s gospel, chapter 11, verse 20 to the end. This scripture describes Jesus’ reflection on our sins – those who sin the most have most to lose in terms of forgiveness, and those who are innocent and most burdened are closest to God’s forgiveness and love ; “‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’”
