Miriam is one of St Thomas’ Church Wardens and she leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Morning Prayer – Miriam reads a passage from the Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy, chapter 4, verse 9 to the end. This scripture considers the Apostle Paul’s experiences proclaiming his faith which he passes onto to his younger colleague Timothy; “At my first defence no-one came to my support, but all deserted me. May it not be counted against them! But the Lord stood by me and have me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.”
