Miriam is one of St Thomas’ Church Wardens and she leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Morning Prayer – Miriam reads a passage from one of Paul’s three Pastoral Epistles, today’s letter was written by Paul to a Christian leader on the island of Crete – Titus, chapter 1. This scripture considers the Apostle Paul’s wise counsel, he describes to Titus the character traits required of a church leader, church members and how best Christians should behave towards one another and interact with their wider community; “I left you behind in Crete for this reason, that you should put in order what remained to be done, and should appoint elders in every town, as I directed you; someone who is blameless, married only once, whose children are believers, not accused of debauchery and not rebellious.”
