Miriam is one of St Thomas’ Church Wardens and she will lead both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Morning Prayer – Miriam considers a passage from Mark’s gospel, chapter 9, verse 38 to the end. This scripture considers Jesus’ response to his disciples who tried to prevent a person casting out demons in Jesus’ name, even though he was not a follower. Jesus’ response to this; “Whoever is not against us is for us. For truly I tell you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ will by no means lose the reward.”
