Revd Liz Newman leads Morning and Evening prayer this week. Morning Prayer on Remembrance Day – Liz reads a passage from Matthew’s Gospel chapter 5, verse 38 to the end. In this scripture Jesus reminds us of forgiveness and generosity of spirit – as God forgives us for the things we have done wrong – so we must redouble our efforts to love and forgive others; “‘You have heard that it was said, “You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.” But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.”
