Evening Prayer Friday October 8th 2021

Our prayers examine scripture and support our response in a prayerful and reflective way. Naomi leads Evening and Morning Prayer this week. Evening Prayer – Naomi reflects on our day and encourages us in prayer: “Go forth into the world in peace; be of good courage; hold fast that which is good; render to no one evil for evil; strengthen the fainthearted; support the weak; help the afflicted; honour everyone; love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit; and may the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always. Amen.”

Music: Before The Ending Of The Day, traditional plainchant, text attributed to St Ambrose (340 – 397), translated by J. M. Neale (1818 – 1866). Recorded remotely by the choral scholars of St Martin-in-the-Fields Church in their homes and edited together. Photograph by: Kat.
