Morning Prayer Saturday March 5th 2022

Roberta is a SPA at St Luke’s church – and she leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Morning Prayer – Roberta reads a passage from the book of Galatians, Chapter 3, verses 15 to 22, where Paul the Apostle writes to a group of early Christian communities in Galatia (now part of modern day Turkey). In this scripture Paul seeks to explain the promise of lineage through Abraham, via only one of his children – Isaac – pointing towards the promise of Jesus’ lineage too. Therefore this inheritance carries more weight than a law could define… Jesus inspires us to faith; “Is the law then opposed to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could make alive, then righteousness would indeed come through the law. But the scripture has imprisoned all things under the power of sin, so that what was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.”

We pray for the people of Ukraine and Russia, for world peace, for wise decision-making and the moral integrity of all world leaders – most especially this morning.
