Amelia and Laura lead both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Morning Prayer – Laura and Amelia consider a passage from Mark’s gospel, chapter 6, verses 14 to 29. This scripture considers John the Baptist’s judgement of Herod – speaking truth to power – and Herod’s complex response; “Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he protected him. When he heard him, he was greatly perplexed; and yet he liked to listen to him.”
