Jim, St Thomas’ Church Warden, leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Today’s Morning Prayer – Jim considers a passage from Luke’s gospel, chapter 22 verses 39 to 46. This scripture describes Jesus’ praying at the Mount of Olives with his disciples, who are so exhausted they fail to stay awake to watch and pray with Jesus; “he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief, and he said to them, ‘Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not come into the time of trial.'”
