Amabel prays for us to value our awareness of the world and nature around us. She reminds us of life and death – that all things emerge in God’s great river of life and vanish into the river again. At the beginning of this day we wake, not as separate streams but as countless currents – enjoying the day’s delight, its dawning, its joys and sorrows – in the twisting and turning of currents flowing as one. Amabel recites Sir Thomas Moore’s prayer asking God to be with us this day, so that Christ’s light may shine out in our lives and that we share this light with those we meet, in our oneness with the world – our Morning Prayer.
