Worship and Activities during week commencing 6 July

Throughout this week, you are invited to join us for worship and other social activities.

Sunday 6 July, 10.00am – Festival Eucharist for St Thomas’ Day

Congregations from St Richard’s, St Luke’s and St Thomas’ will join together in St Thomas’ Church with people also joining online. Revd Owen will Preside at the Eucharist for the first time.

Sunday 6 July, 9.00pm – Compline

We finish our Sunday with a short service of Compline (or night prayers). We meet on Zoom where you can join online or dial in on any telephone.

Tuesday 8 July – Tuesday Group

The Tuesday Group at St Thomas’ Church meets from 10.00am. It is a time when you can meet with friends and make new friends. Some people choose to relax and have a chat over a cuppa. Others prefer to join in with some gardening or DIY tasks. You can also stay for lunch. However you choose to spend the time, you can be guaranteed of a warm welcome.

Tuesday 8 July, 1.00pm – Tuesday Social

Fancy some company, a slice of cake, and something to do?

The Tuesday Social is a weekly, warm, welcoming space to relax, chat, and enjoy an afternoon with your neighbours. Whether you’re retired, working from home, caring for little ones, or just fancy some friendly faces and a change of scene, you’re very welcome. There’s no agenda – do a spot of gardening, try a board game, bring your knitting, or simply sit and enjoy the company. Hosted by CCRA and St Richard’s Church on Tuesday’s, 1-3pm

Tuesday 8 July, 6.00pm – Evening Prayer

We meet in the beautiful chapel at St Richard’s Church Centre for a service of Evening Prayer at 6.00pm. The entrance to the chapel is in Sundorne Road.

Wednesday 9 July, 5.30pm – Community Choir

Everyone is welcome to join us on Wednesday evenings for a time of fun and singing. No experience is necessary and the choir is open to people of all ages. We sing for an hour and meet at St Luke’s Church.

Thursday 10 July, 10.00am – Coffee Morning

Join us from 10.00am at St Luke’s for a chance to catch up with friends and make new friends too. As well as having a chat, this is a great opportunity to look around our historic church.

Thursday 10 July, 12 noon – Holy Communion

Following the Coffee Morning, a simple midweek service of Holy Communion takes place at St Luke’s. Everyone is welcome.

There is no sermon, but there is music for reflection and prayers are said for the church, world, community and those in need. This oasis in the middle of the week may be just what you need.
