Morning Prayer Monday March 28th 2022

Revd Bennett Spong leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week, in the season of Lent (marking the 40 days Jesus spent in the desert). Morning Prayer – Bennett reads a passage from Hebrews, Chapter 9, verses 1 – 14. This scripture sets Jesus within the context of how the temple and services had been laid out before his coming, “…how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!.”

We pray for the people of Ukraine and Russia and for world peace. We pray for wise decision-making and for the moral integrity of all world leaders in the face of evil – most especially this morning.

‘Hireath’ – this translates from the original Welsh as a ‘deep longing for something, especially home’, composed by Scott Buckley (Creative Commons Music).
