Morning Prayer Tuesday March 1st

Roberta is a SPA at St Luke’s church – and she leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Morning Prayer on Shrove Tuesday – Roberta reads a passage from Galatians Chapter 2, verses 1-10, where Paul the Apostle continues to write letters to those he supports in faith – to Christians living in Galatia (now in modern day Turkey). This scripture explains Paul’s view of the founding of the church; “James and Cephas and John, who were acknowledged pillars, recognised the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. They asked only one thing, that we remember the poor, which was actually what I was eager to do.”

We pray for the people of Ukraine and Russia, for world peace, for wise decision-making and the moral integrity of all world leaders – most especially this morning.
